Bulgarian Poultry Union has been established on 27 November 1991 as a professional organization of poultry producers and poultry processors, a legal non-profit entity. Major statute and practical aim of the Union is to defend the economic interests of its members and to assist in implementing the scientific and technical achievements in practice. The Union represents poultrymen and poultry processors to state authorities and public organizations in the country and abroad. There are two societies attached to Bulgarian Poultry Union, dealing with ostrich and quail rearing. Bulgarian Poultry Union is a collective member of Bulgarian Industrial Association, of Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber, of Bulgarian Association of Food and Drink Industry, and àlso of Standing Consultative Council of Agrarian Porfessional Organizations in Bulgaria. The Union is a collective member of the National Branch of World Poultry Science Association. Higher governing body of the Union is the General Assembly. Its executive body is the Managerial Board, and its controlling body is the Control Council. Operative activities are performed by a President and a Vice-President. The President, the Vice-President and the Chairman of the Controlling Council are elected by the General Assembly for a term of three years. The President is also Chairman of the Managerial Board. At its yearly meeting the General Assembly of Bulgarian Poultry Union, held on 21 February, 2007, has elected as President prof. Dr Boris Kirilov Stoimenov, as Vice President Seg. Res. Dr agr.Sci. Dimitar Nikolov Beloretchkov, and as Chairman of the Control Council Seg.Res.Dr Simeon Metodiev Dimitrov. |
